Crash leaves 23-year-old dead

A fatal crash occurred in Orange County Monday, May 25. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2024 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on State Road 528, west of Universal Boulevard. Alongside the 23-year-old driver, there was a 20-year-old passenger. 

For an unknown reason, the car ran off the roadway, striking a light pole and multiple trees, which led the car to overturn. 

The driver was transported to the Dr. P. Phillips Hospital and was pronounced dead. 

The passenger was transported to Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
