After being held scoreless in the first quarter, the Panthers reeled off 28 points to push past the Mustangs to claim their third win of the season.
It took almost two-full quarters for Dr. Phillips to pick up its first score, but that didn't stop the Panthers from rallying to a 28-19 win over Wekiva on Friday, Oct. 9.
A week after Dr. Phillips (3-1) easily handled Windermere in a 50-0 win, the Panthers found themselves in a bind down 12-0 through most of the first half before quarterback Jojo Patti hit Ledger Hatch on a 10-yard touchdown toss just before the halftime break. Patti to Hatch would be the connection of the night, as 121 of Patti's 173-passing yards would end up in Hatch's hands, as well as both of Patti's touchdown tosses.
The Panthers would go on in the second half to outscore Wekiva (1-2) by a 21-7 margin — thanks to the second Patti-to-Hatch touchdown, and two-short rushing scores by Jaydan Taylor.
Up next the Panthers travel down the road to take on an undefeated Olympia (3-0) on Friday, Oct. 16.
