Ocoee leaders will take action during tonight’s city commission meeting on the second reading of an ordinance that amends the plans for the Ocoee Town Shops Planned Unit Development.

The Ocoee Town Shops PUD is a 3.39-acre development located at the northwest corner of Clarke Road and West Colonial Drive. Plans for the development proposes a mix of uses like commercial, retail, restaurant, drive-thru restaurants, medical offices and financial services. The plans propose three commercial lots with three, one-story structures with a gross floor area of 30,443 square feet. The total square footage is allocated for 16,358 square feet of commercial, 4,500 square feet of financial services/commercial/drive-thru restaurant and 9,585 feet of restaurant.

The applicant is proposing to amend the PUD land-use plan by reducing the overall building square footage from 30,443 to 27,750 to accommodate a revision to lot one of the development, which is approved for the 9,585 square feet of restaurant space. The applicant is proposing to change this space from a restaurant building to 15,750 square-feet of strip retail/restaurant building.

Additionally, this amendment also moves the stormwater from under the parking lot to a retention pond, according to the agenda.

Prior to taking action on the Ocoee Town Shops PUD, Ocoee Police Chief Charlie Brown and the Citizens Advisory Council for the Ocoee Police Department will be presenting a number of awards to local citizens and officers.

City leaders also will be appointing members to the 2019 Canvassing Board.
