LACROSSE PLAYOFFS: Olympia girls advance, DP boys fall

Thanks to a 13-7 win over Newsome (Lithia) in its Second Round Play-In match on April 21, the Olympia Titans girls lacrosse team is now one game away from reaching the FHSAA Final Four.

The Titans (18-2), will host nearby Timber Creek (16-3), in a matchup of the No. 5 and No. 6 teams in the state, respectively, in the Third Round Play-In on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Olympia was led by four goals from Finley Cassidy and three goals from Emily Headley.

In the state playoffs for boys teams, Dr. Phillips had been the last remaining local team until it fell on April 21 to Newsome, 22-13.

Senior Ian Decker concludes his career with the Panthers (16-6) with school records for goals in a season and over the duration of his career. Other seniors who were part of the Panthers' run of three district titles in four years include Edwin WileyConnor JacksonKristopher ScogginWilky TelisnorMike SesayJack Cook and Alex Rome.
