DESIGN CONTEST

Florida Film Academy T-Shirt Contest

Florida Film Academy is hosting a contest for kids to design its2015 summer camp T-shirts. Anyone wanting to enter should visit flfilmacademy.com for the competition and submission details.  There will be two winners — the academy’s choice and the audience choice — each winning a week’s summer camp at either Florida Film Academy’s Winter Garden or Sarasota location. The deadline to submit is April 1.

Table for Two

6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Windermere Branch Library, 530 Main St., Windermere. Award-winning cookbook author Warren Caterson will share kitchen tips, cooking hints and humorous anecdotes about the joys and challenges of cooking. He will also demonstrate how to easily cook for two using fresh and readily available ingredients. A book sale and signing will follow the program. Teen Art Adventures: CD Scratch Art

Garden Theatre 2015 Spring Classes: ABCs of Acting

4:15 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesdays, March 31 through May 19, at the theater, 160 W. Plant St., Winter Garden. An acting class for self-expression and self-confidence, this class encourages each child in a relaxed and positive environment. Tuition is $250; class is open to children ages 7 to 12.
