A program funded by the USDA will allow students at schools throughout Orange County — and at some schools within West Orange County — to receive meals free of charge at school.

Schools in West Orange County with over 80% of students qualifying for free and reduced meals at school are eligible to serve all students free of charge. For the 2016-17 school year, Lake Gem Elementary, Ocoee Elementary and Frangus Elementary are the West Orange Schools that qualify.

All students at these three schools can receive breakfast, lunch and dinner free of charge.

During the first year of the program, students at these schools must fill out eligibility forms. In the years following, they will automatically qualify without the use of an eligibility form.
