WEST ORANGE  It’s bad news for Logan’s Roadhouse fans in the West Orange area — the West Colonial Drive location is one of 18 nationwide to be shut down after the company filed for bankruptcy Monday, Aug. 8.

Located at 7480 W. Colonial Drive in Orlando off Dorscher Road, the West Orange location is one of two in Florida that has shut its doors. The other is on University Boulevard in East Orlando. The casual family restaurant is based in Nashville and has more than 250 locations nationwide, serving slow-cooked and fire-grilled dishes.

According to the court filing, Logan’s has about $416 million in debts. The company’s plan is to restructure its balance sheet and fund a turnaround.

“The company will be closing 18 underperforming restaurants as part of the overall efforts to improve the company’s financial performance,” Logan’s said in a statement. “A plan is in place to assist employees in closing restaurants, reassigning employees to other Logan’s restaurants and providing them with outplacement services and assistance with applying for jobs. The company’s owners, lenders, bondholders, board of directors and senior management are committed to ensuring the company’s future growth and success, and today’s filing is simply a necessary step to achieve those goals.”
