Deadline to register for Aug. 30 election upcoming

Monday, Aug. 1 is the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming Aug. 30 election.

ORANGE COUNTY  If you plan to vote in Florida’s upcoming elections on Aug. 30, your deadline to register or update information is on the horizon.

Monday, Aug. 1, is the deadline to register to vote or switch parties in the election that will determine party nominees for the U.S. Senate and Congress in primaries, a state constitutional amendment and Orange County nonpartisan races, among others.

Races in Orange County include: County Commission Districts 1, 3 and 5; Clerk of Courts; Comptroller; Sheriff; Property Appraiser; Tax Collector; Supervisor of Elections; and School Board Districts 4, 6 and 7, among others.

Voters must register or switch parties by Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. The Orange County Supervisor of Elections office has special, extended hours Saturday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will also be open Monday, Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Voters can also register by phone and by mail if the signed form is postmarked by Monday. The form is available online.
