Foundation Academy, a private Christian school in Winter Garden, held its homecoming ceremony at halftime during a homecoming game against Cornerstone Charter Academy Sept. 30.
Eight couples including the 2015 homecoming king and queen, paraded around in vintage cars at the academy’s North Campus. The 2015 homecoming king and queen, David Orlando and Mattie Strong, crowned seniors Samantha Wilber and Jordan Boast as this year’s homecoming king and queen.
Before running off to finish playing the second quarter of the game after the ceremony, 2016 homecoming king Jordan Boast shared how great it felt to be crowned king. He said he expected it, somewhat, but it was still a surprise.
2016 homecoming queen Samantha Wilber did not expect her coronation at all.
“I did not expect it,” said Wilber. “But I feel honored that the student body would think of me this highly to give me such an honor and I’m glad that God was glorified through all of this.”
