Three things to watch for at tonight's Winter Garden City Commission meeting:

Development of new elementary school

Commissioners will decide whether or not to approve the annexation, future land use designation and rezoning for 8.82 acres located at the southwest corner of East Story Road and 9th street. The ordinances pertaining to this property were conditionally approved in their first reading on Oct 13. The second reading and public hearing for this ordinance will be held tonight. The applicant is Orange County Public Schools and they are requesting to develop the property with a new elementary school.

Development of 11 single family homes

A property owner wishes to change the future land use designation of 3.07 acres the property at 707 West Plant Street on the northeast corner of West Plant Street and Brayton Road in order to develop 11 single family homes.

Heritage at Plant Street PUD

Commissioners will discuss approval of the second reading for the rezoning of 16.66 acres located at 605 and 755 E. Plant Street & 290 E. Newell Street to allow a developer to build 43 new townhomes and 41 single family residences. Twenty-five out of the proposed 43 townhomes will be permitted to have a granny flat of approximately 400 square feet on top of a detached garage. The project will include associated streets and vehicular alleys, pedestrian walks, entrance design features, a centrally-located recreation area with a swimming pool, a golf cart access path onto Donald Drive, extra parking for guests, retention ponds with fountain features and perimeter fencing.
