Ocoee man arrested after traveling to have sex with 13-year-old, deputies say

An Ocoee man drove to Lake County Monday, Sept. 26, in order to have sex with a 13-year-old girl, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit. 

At his arrival, the man, Jose Rodriguez, was arrested by Lake County deputies, who had posed online as the 13-year-old’s aunt. 

During the week prior, a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy was in Osceola County, working with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office to identify people who used the internet as a means to sexually exploit children. The detective communicated with Rodriguez for several days. During that time, the deputy returned to Lake County and told Rodriguez where he could meet the 13-year-old girl. When he arrived, deputies found a condom in his pocket, the affidavit states.  

He was sent to Lake County Jail and released after posting a $10,000 bond.
