A partnership between La Liga, one of the world’s most well-known professional soccer leagues, and Disney has produced the IdeaSport Soccer Program, a program aspiring to create a “holistic approach to soccer education with proven, year-round training and development for youth soccer athletes, developing them on and off the field, as well as professional training for coaches and officials.”

The IdeaSport Soccer Program is launching this weekend, June 3-4, with an open house at the ESPN Wide World of Sport Complex at Disney. The open house, which will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, will be free for families interested in attending, though they are asked to register ahead of time at ideasports.com.

Activities will include on-field play sessions, appearances by La Liga players and coaches — as well as Disney characters — and photo opportunities with the La Liga trophy.

The program is geared toward boys and girls ages 4-18, and all skill levels are welcome.

“All kids are welcome to participate,” J.P. Reynal, a partner at IdeaSports, said. “(The program) will service all different skill levels — we will not turn kids back. … The concept of the academy is we don’t choose the kids, the kids choose us.”

Interested families will also have the opportunity to join the program, which begins in August, at a discounted rate if they attend the open house.
