Nehrling Gardens is presenting a program on the amaryllis — how to culture, care for and create hybrids of the plant — from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 25. The cost is $10 per adult.

Participants can learn how to propagate seedlings and hybridize your own amaryllis based on the teachings of Dr. Henry Nehrling's publication, “The Amaryllis.”

Guests can discover Nehrling's role in popularizing and cultivating this lovely plant, explore the gardens and learn how to start amaryllis from seed. All participants will leave with a tray of seedling starts to begin an amaryllis garden of their own.

Previous horticulture experience is not required.
