Art lovers packed the halls of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 14, for the church’s inaugural “Take pART: A Festival of the Arts.” Festival-goers enjoyed performances, an array workshops, an artist alley, food trucks and an open-mic night. The event was held to celebrate the arts in the community, and was offered free of charge.
“We wanted to create a supportive space where artists could get connected and feel supported,” St. Luke’s Executive Director of Marketing Dawn Fleming said. “We wanted this to be a unique arts festival, so there’s no competition. We’re not selling artwork here. It’s really about supporting local artists and celebrating creativity.”
