Windermere Town Council members will explore traffic solutions at a special called meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at Town Hall.

On the table for discussion is Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings' possible 1-cent tax increase, which is planned for transportation. In previous meetings,  town officials discussed working with the county to acquire a portion of the funds, if the increase is approved.

The council also will address the possibility of an urban traffic planning project order to study residential neighborhoods surrounding downtown Windermere.  The cut-through traffic has been a problem for many years. According to the agenda, the council intends to reach a consensus on possible recommendations and/or improvements for the issue.
