Donald Andrew Lindsay, age 86, of Montverde, Florida, passed away in his home on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Born in Burnsville, West Virginia, on Jan. 18, 1933, to Lawrence M. and Madeline V. (Posey) Lindsay, he graduated from Burnsville High School in West Virginia.

He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Mae Sumpter, on Dec 20, 1953, and very soon after joined the Army. Donald was retired from a full career at BFGoodrich in Akron, OH. He was a longstanding member of the church and dedicated much of his life to the service of others.

He loved golf, the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Florida Gators and a good bowl of ice cream.

He is survived by brother, Jackie Lindsay; daughters, Debra Williams and Nancy Myers; along with granddaughters, Stephanie Baysinger and Emily Williams; and two great-granddaughters.

We celebrate his reunion in Heaven with his beloved wife, Shirley, and though he will be missed by so many here on Earth, we rest in the knowledge that he is rejoicing. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22, 2019 — 10 a.m. visitation hour and 11 a.m. service at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home in Winter Garden, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a financial donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
