A volunteer and outreach club at Horizon West Middle School is collecting clothes to benefit individuals in need in areas of destruction and in third-world countries.
That club is called HOPE — which stands for “Hornets Offer Positive Efforts” — and it will be hosting a clothing drive from noon to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Horizon West Middle School parking lot at 8200 Tattant Blvd., Windermere. All donations must be in good, usable condition and will be sent to those in need. All donated items must be bagged.
Acceptable items include clothing and shoes for men, women, children and infants; accessories like belts, backpacks and hats; soft and hard toys smaller than 14 inches; and linens like blankets, sheets, curtains and towels. Items that will not be accepted include books, board games, puzzles, art supplies, furniture, rugs, exercise equipment appliances, dirty or tattered items, glassware, winter boots or coats and dishes, among other items.
