A local yoga studio is offering free classes to high schoolers now through Sunday, March 1.

Following a tragic death at Windermere High school this week, Warrior ONE Winter Garden-Windermere yoga studio owner Julie Sanchez decided to offer free yoga classes for high school students for the remainder of the week.

Sanchez said she and her staff started Warrior ONE initially because they believed it is important to uplift the community. Young adults, she said, are a big part of the community.

"Health is not only physical, it’s mental, emotional and connection, to yourself and those around you," Sanchez said. "If we can help one human feel loved and connected, that there is hope, it’s all worth it."

Sanchez added that yoga is a great way to connect yourself with the community and to feel supported. She and her staff also are working on plans to help local high schoolers and young adults year round. They hope to roll out those programs and plans soon.

Warrior ONE Winter Garden-Windermere is located at 13796 Bridgewater Crossings Blvd. Suite 1040, Windermere. It is open Friday, Feb. 28, until 8:45 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 29, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m.; and Sunday, March 1, from 8 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.

For more information, call Warrior ONE at (407) 614-8240, send the staff an email or visit the studio's website.
