Dr. Phillips High, Tildenville Elementary magnets receive national recognition

Dr. Phillips High School and Tildenville Elementary School are among six Orange County public schools that have received national recognition for their magnet programs.

On Monday, Jan. 27, Orange County Public Schools announced the Magnet Schools of America organization has recognized seven OCPS magnet programs for their superiority. 

Among those seven programs are the Two-Way Dual Language program at Tildenville Elementary and both the Center for International Studies and Visual and Performing Arts programs at Dr. Phillips High. All three programs received MSA's Magnet School of Distinction Award. This signifies that the programs fulfilled all scoring rubric requirements.

According to OCPS, the annual MSA National Merit Awards recognize magnet schools that “demonstrate commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and consistent delivery of high-quality educational services to all stakeholders.”

MSA will recognize these programs during its national convention April 13 in Clark County, Nevada.
