Horizon West woman accused of attacking postal worker, deputies say

Mary Ann DiCosolo, 52, was arrested Feb. 26 on charges of battery and robbery.

A Horizon West woman is accused of attacking a postal worker, according to an Orange County arrest affidavit.

According to the affidavit, 52-year-old Mary Ann DiCosolo is facing charges of robbery and battery following an incident that occurred in 7290 block of Penkridge Lane Thursday, Feb. 26.

The affidavit states that an Orange County Sheriff’s deputy responded at 1:30 p.m. to a battery call. Upon arriving, the deputy spoke with a postal office worker, who said she was delivering mail to a unit mailbox when she was approached by the woman.

The postal worker told deputies DiCosolo yelled at her, asking if she was the one who kept stuffing her mail in the mailbox. After DiCosolo pointed a finger at her, the postal worker told deputies, she began recording and asked DiCosolo what her address was.

The victim said DiCosolo grabbed her phone and scratched her on the neck and cheek. The affidavit states that the victim was bleeding from the scratches.

According to deputies, the victim said she is willing to press charges and testify in court. Video on the victim’s phone shows DiCosolo injuring her, deputies said.

Investigators said they met with DiCosolo and determined that she was the primary aggressor. DiCosolo was arrested on charges of battery and robbery.

Court records show DiCosolo will plead not guilty.
