Sandbags available for Winter Garden residents

The city is helping citizens prepare for Hurricane Eta, which is expected to cross through Central Florida this week.

Winter Garden residents can pick up sandbags Wednesday and Thursday in preparation for Hurricane Eta, which is expected to cross through Central Florida.

Sandbags are available at the Public Service Complex at 8800 W. Bay St., near Lakeview Middle School. Pickup times are until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, Nov. 12 — weather permitting.

There is a limit of 10 sandbags per household. Residents will be asked to show proof of residency.
