Winter Garden hosting document-shredding event

Residents can take their papers Saturday to be safely destroyed for free.

The city of Winter Garden will host a free document-shredding event for residents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. Crown Information Management will provide safe and secure document shredding, and residents can watch their documents go through the shredder.

It takes place at 848 E. Plant St., in the empty lot across from the Winter Garden Library. Participants must bring proof of residency.

The following items are allowed: paper clips, rubber bands, chart fasteners, spiral notebooks, staples, credit cards, paper and envelopes with fasteners. Not allowed are binder clips, batteries, three-ring binders, medication, plastics, sharps or needles, bio-waste and large metal objects.
