Matthew's Hope in Winter Garden is inviting the community to a special holiday event.

The non-profit's Community Christmas Carnival aims to provide a "dignified opportunity to those struggling in our community to have a Merry Christmas," according to Matthew's Hope.

The entire community is invited to enjoy the carnival festivities which will include free games for children with prizes to take home, food and more.

Children will have the opportunity to make their Christmas wishes known while window shopping as they wait to visit Santa, who will be visiting during the carnival.

"Elves" from the event will be tagging along to make sure parents are made aware of their child's desires.

Only a few days later, parents in need of Christmas assistance will be given an opportunity to be invited back to "shop" at Santa's Christmas Shop so that they may provide Christmas for their children.

The organization is still searching for volunteers and donations.

For more information on joining the team as a volunteer or partner, contact Tracy Lewis or Nancy Deskins.
