A local West Orange Church is hosting a special service for those going through hard times.

St. Luke’s United Methodist Church will be offering a “Blue Christmas and Longest Night” worship service.

The church acknowledged that Christmas can be a painful time for many people, especially after the past two years living in a pandemic.

The special service will offer encouragement for those who are feeling alone during the holiday season.

"Come and join with us in sharing and hearing prayers, scripture, and music that acknowledge that God’s presence is for those who mourn, for those who struggle – and that God’s Word comes to shine light into our darkness," St. Luke's said.

The church explained that everyone, regardless of church background, or lack of it, is welcome.

The event will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19, in the sanctuary of the church, which is located at 4851 S. Apopka-Vineland Road.
