Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy they say shot and killed a woman inside her Ocoee apartment.

Deputies said Michael Lecorn turned himself in Tuesday, Feb. 2, in Osceola County. Records show he is being charged with first-degree murder with a firearm.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded to The Avenue apartment complex following reports of a shooting at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31. According to reports, they found 41-year-old Fonda Gandy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment at 1102 Vizcaya Lakes Road. Gandy was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Deputies said there was an argument inside the apartment and Lecorn shot Gandy. According to reports, Lecorn attempted to kill another woman inside the home but she managed to get away. Lecorn then fled the scene before eventually turning himself in.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help Jarvis Scott, Gandy's son, cover her funeral expenses. To donate, click here.
