More Floridians will become eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the Orange County Convention Center starting Monday, March 22, as Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings announced Thursday that the center would now be serving those ages 40-and-up.
Up until this point the vaccine was available to only Florida residents 60 years and older — which was put into place by the state — but Demings said that the county had notified the state of the change, which was induced in large part due to the low turnout at the center thus far.
