Oakland hosting Tri-County community meeting

Coffee and doughnuts will accompany the conversation on bills and advocacy.

The Tri-County League of Cities is holding a community meeting in Oakland to give residents an opportunity to learn more about legislative action being taken at the state level and find out how to become more involved at the local level.

The event is at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Oakland Meeting Hall, 221 N. Arrington St.; coffee, doughnuts and networking begins at 9:30.

A number of house and senate bills will be discussed regarding regulation of vacation rentals, regulation of home-based businesses, and pre-emption of local zoning and development by the state.

Seating is limited, and CDC guidelines will be in effect, including social distancing and masks. Pre-registration is required by visiting surveymonkey.com/r/H5YMMZH
