Winter Garden leaders to hear new Healthy West Orange plan at Nov. 11 meeting

The project would be located on 30 acres between Plant and Division Streets.

Winter Garden City Commission will hear a recommendation to approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Healthy West Orange for the creation of a Creative Aging Campus, during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in City Hall Commission Chambers, 300 W. Plant Street.

The campus would be located on approximately 30 acres, between East Plant Street and East Division Street. According to the MOU, Healthy West Orange is requesting permission to conduct 12 months of due diligence while dialoguing with city leaders on project feasibility. The Creative Aging Campus plan would include a fitness center, aquatics, clubhouse and adult stay care along with other facilities and amenities.

Other items on the meeting agenda include: A recommendation to approve a Garden Commerce Parkway road extension agreement for property located at 12565 West Colonial Drive; A recommendation to approve a license agreement with Red Top Productions to manage the Winter Garden Farmers Market.
