A local non-profit organization is searching for professional female artists.

Women in the Arts aims to advance art education for people of all ages, especially the youth, and raise public awareness of women's contributions to the arts.

The organization is inviting professional female artists to submit their work for the 2022 Women in the Arts competition "Celebrating the Genius of Women."

The competition's theme is open with preference to works inspired by or representing women, dignity, respect, justice, courage, joy, service, faith, suffering, healing and hope.

Artwork can encompass all media including drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, digital art, media art, installations, jewelry and sculpture.

Selected works will be part of the on-site digital exhibition at the 11th annual Celebrating the Genius of Women at the Orlando Public Library in March and April of 2022.

Honorees will be recognized at the awards event on March 26.

Finalists, who will be eligible for up to $2,500 in cash prizes and in-kind awards, will be announced on Feb. 11, after 11 a.m. at womeninthearts.org.
