Winter Garden leaders to discuss residential project and fleet vehicles during Oct. 28 meeting

Winter Garden City Commission will revisit the Lakeview Village Estates residential project plan during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in City Hall Commission Chambers, 300 W. Plant Street.

The first reading of the proposed ordinance to rezone 7.25 acres, along Story Road between South Lakeview Avenue and South Central Avenue, from R2 (residential district) to planned unit development was heard during the Oct 14 meeting.  Lakeview Village Estates will consist of 26 new single-family homes and three townhome buildings containing a total of 14 units. The project also would feature recreation areas, pedestrian walkways, landscaping and stormwater ponds.

The meeting will also include: An ordinance to create regulations for temporary roof coverings within the city. A resolution to actively support the preservation and restoration of the original rural character of the West Orange Trail. And Fleet and Facilities Division recommendations to approve the purchases of a Freightliner rescue truck, front-end loader, and a Caterpillar excavator.
