Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is closing the County Road 438/Oakland Avenue bridge over Florida’s Turnpike in Oakland Sept. 26 for demolition and reconstruction. The bridge is anticipated to be closed for 12 months.

Detours have been established, and drivers will have to use Tubb Street and West Colonial Drive while the bridge is out.

This closure is part of the project widening the turnpike from two to four lanes in each direction, from West Colonial/Clermont to Hancock Road/Minneola in Orange and Lake counties. This project is anticipated to be completed by mid-2026; however, the schedule could change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
