The speed limit on Hartwood Marsh Road has been reduced from 35 mph to 25 mph from Avalon Road to the Lake County border.

The changes in the speed limit come after more residential development continues to occur along the road and the surrounding areas.

The topic of speed and heavy trucks along the road has been a hot discussion for many local residents who have been quite vocal about the issue.

To combat these issues, the city of Winter Garden banned certain classes of trucks earlier this year, which we told you about here, from using the road.

The road also has limited infrastructure available to residents, which forces travelers to go either way on the road for schools, groceries and other commercial business.

Once in Lake County, the speed limit increases to 40 mph.
