OCPS' Jenkins receives national leadership award

The OCPS superintendent was one of 11 recipients of the Baldrige Foundation Award for Leadership Excellence.

OCPS superintendent Dr. Barbara Jenkins was awarded the Baldrige Foundation Award for Leadership Excellence within education on Jan. 28. 

“The Foundation Awards for Leadership Excellence were established to recognize leaders in Business (Manufacturing, Service, Small Business), Nonprofit, Government, Health Care, Education, and Cybersecurity, who provide exceptional support to Baldrige and the Foundation’s mission, helping to sustain Baldrige into the future, and promoting the positive impact of Baldrige on organizational and community success,” Baldrige Foundation CEO Al Faber said in a press release. 

Jenkins was one of 11 recipients of the award. 

The Baldrige Foundation was created as the private partner to the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program in 1988. Its mission is to ensure the long-term financial viability of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program and to support organizational performance excellence throughout the United States and the world.
