WGPD hosting National Night Out

The annual event will include free food, children’s activities and demonstrations.

Get to know your local police officers!

Join the Winter Garden Police Department for a Night Out Against Crime at the annually celebrated National Night Out. It takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Downtown Pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave.

The event will include free food, children’s activities, a meet-and-greet with local police officers, demonstrations and crime-prevention tips. Several organizations will have booths set up as well.

National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships.

Community Editor Amy Quesinberry was born at the old West Orange Memorial Hospital and raised in Winter Garden. Aside from earning her journalism degree from the University of Georgia, she hasn’t strayed too far from her hometown and her three-mile bubble.
