Oakland hosting Celebration Among the Oaks springtime festival

The Easter Bunny, an egg hunt and vendor booths are all part of the festivities Saturday, April 1.

Oakland’s Celebration Among the Oaks springtime festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at VanderLey Park, 117 E. Gulley Ave., with more experiences, thousands of eggs and boutique vendors.

Attendees can hunt for eggs, pose for free photos with the Easter Bunny at the gazebo, shop at more than 40 vendor booths and enjoy children’s activities and crafts.

The Lakeside Church is hosting an egg drop at 12:30 p.m. featuring thousands of plastic eggs being released from a helicopter onto VanderLey Park. A Bubble Bus will provide a fun interactive experience, and Orange Blossom Market Co. is partnership with the town to bring vendors specializing in baked goods, arts and crafts, and plant arrangements. Sandy Back Porch bluegrass folk band will play at the Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland, and folks can go inside to see the new exhibition, “A Portrait of Grace: Women’s Art & History.”

Visitors to the town of Oakland tent can enter for the chance to win a fruit or flowering tree donated by Paradise Landscaping & Irrigation.

Lunch and snacks will be available for purchase at the following food trucks: The Salted Fry; Rock Paper Scissors Eat; Sugar, Spice, and All Things Iced; Meem's Fudge Shoppe; Lady T Lemonade LLC; and Hot Dog Therapy. The new concessionaire, The Oakland General Store, also will be open at the heritage center.
