The Windermere High competitive cheerleading team won the FHSAA Class 2A Small Varsity State Championship — the second state title in the program’s history and the second overall team state championship in school history.

The Lime Ladies’ final score was 88.90, after a one-point deduction — beating out second-place Tate High’s score of 87.60 and defending state champions West Orange High, which finished third with a final score of 86.10.

Despite having a lower score in the cheer category than Tate Aggies and a lower overall category score than the Warriors, Windermere’s score of 36.2 in the building category — which judges the execution of stunt sequences, pyramids and tosses within a routine — proved to be the difference, giving the Lime Ladies of Windermere a 2.4 point gap over Tate and a 3.2 point gap over West Orange.
