Windermere Prep community mourns loss of alumna

Claire Juneau, a member of WPS's 2024 graduating class and the Lakers' theater program, has passed away.

The Windermere Preparatory School community is mourning the passing of recent Lakers graduate Claire Juneau, a member of the Class of 2024. WPS shared the news of the loss in a Facebook post.

"It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of WPS alumna Claire Juneau ‘24," the post read. "Claire was a shining light in our Laker community — known for her quiet strength, creative brilliance and compassionate spirit. Whether leading our theatre costume crew with dedication and grace or stepping into the spotlight with courage and talent, Claire left a lasting impression on everyone who had the joy of knowing her."

In the school's social media post it invites the community to join in extending heartfelt condolences to the Juneau family and their loved ones during this difficult time.

A native of João Pessoa, Brazil, Sam Albuquerque moved in 1997 to Central Florida as a kid.
