UPDATE: Hold has been lifted at Windermere High

Police located the suspected student off-campus; no weapon was found.

Classes at Windermere High School resumed at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, following a morning hold while police investigated a report of a weapon on campus.

"The hold has been lifted, and we have resumed normal operations," Principal Andrew Leftakis said in a message to parents. "Law enforcement identified the student, located them off-campus, and no weapon was found."

Windermere High School students currently are on hold in relation to a report of a weapon on campus.

According to Principal Andrew Leftakis, the school was placed on a hold this morning.

“Our campus is currently on a hold while law enforcement investigates a report of a student on campus with a weapon. All students and staff are safe. Students will remain in their classrooms, and instruction will continue until the all-clear is announced.”
