Theatre at St. Luke’s to stage ‘The Prom’

Theatre at St. Luke’s is bring a hit Broadway musical to Southwest Orange starting tonight.

Performances of “The Prom” will take place from  Thursday, Aug. 6, through Sunday, Aug. 16.

When a group of Broadway stars travels to a small Indiana town to support a high school student who wants to bring her girlfriend to Prom, what begins as a publicity stunt becomes a moving story of acceptance, friendship and standing up for what is right. Packed with show-stopping songs, big laughs and heartfelt moments, this production promises to be a joyful celebration of love, belonging and being true to yourself.

“The Prom” is directed by Steve MacKinnon, with choreography by Shane Bland and music direction by John R. Mason III and Bradley Roberts.

Note: Theatre at St. Luke’s has given “The Prom” a PG-13 rating for profanity, harmful slurs and sexual references.
