The Ocoee Police Department announced new rules now are in effect for micromobility devices such as e-bikes and e-scooters.
According to OPD, new rules include a sidewalk speed limit of 10 mph, no stunt riding or riding on landscaped areas allowed, and all riders must yield to pedestrians.
The goal, OPD said, is to keep everyone safe while still allowing these devices on the road.
"Our focus will be education first," the announcement said. "We want riders to understand the new ordinance and what it means before enforcement becomes necessary. Whether you're riding an e-bike, walking through your neighborhood or driving on our roads, we're all responsible for looking out for one another. Let's work together to keep Ocoee safe."
