Meteorologist to speak at Winter Garden Heritage Foundation Lunch & Learn

For those weather geeks out there, make sure you plan to attend the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation’s next Lunch & Learn.

Tom Sorrells, who spent more than three decades reporting the weather as a meteorologist, will be the speaker at the foundation’s Weather-Ready Lunch & Learn, set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Heller Hall, 21 E. Plant St., Winter Garden.

Attendees will learn how hurricanes, tornadoes and dangerous storms affect Central Florida while exploring practical ways to prepare your household and access trusted safety, power-line and outage-reporting resources.
