The Oakland Police Department was awarded $400 in a grant.

According to town officials, OPD was awarded the grant through the Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust's Training Incentive Program.

"This funding reimburses up to 50% of expenses for programs that mitigate risks and enhance the safety of our employees and community," officials said. "The Oakland Police Department received this award for costs as the department moves towards accreditation."
