Winter Garden Little League hosted the District 14 Little League Tournament of Champions from Tuesday, May 26, to Saturday, May 30. The 10-game tournament was slated with matchups between Apopka, Dr. Phillips, South Lake, Winter Garden and Windermere little leagues. Through the five days of competition, the five teams comprising the leagues’ cream of the crop from the leagues competed for one title. The All-Star teams were selected from the top players in each leagues’ 8-,9- and 10-year-olds.
In the opening-night matchups, Winter Garden shut out Apopka 16-0, and Windermere topped South Lake 22-3.
Windermere and Winter Garden were the two teams that dominated the slate, and they competed in the championship game Monday, June 1. Winter Garden won the game, 1-0 to claim its third consecutive TOC championship title.
