Three-vehicle crash takes place near Winter Garden

A three-vehicle crash occurred just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Turnpike's mile marker 274.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the cause for the accident still is unknown. 

The three vehicles involved were a truck hauling a trailer, a sedan and a semi-truck. 

The person inside the sedan was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment after becoming trapped in his/her vehicle. 

While all southbound lanes were closed, they now are open. 

The crash remains under investigation. 

No other details have been released at this time.
