Dr. Phillips High alumna Hannah Schaible has — once again — put herself in elite company.

Schaible, a senior for the George Washington University women's basketball team, joined the program's 1,000-point club during the team's 53-44 win against St. Joseph's University Jan. 4.

Entering the contest needing just five points to achieve the milestone mark, the former Panther's 1,000th career point came on a baseline jumper out of a media timeout with 4:39 left in the first quarter. Schaible finished with 12 points on the game.

"It was fun to witness Hannah's 1,000th point tonight," George Washington head coach Jennifer Rizzotti said after in a release. "The best part about it was she cared more about us winning than getting her milestone and that just says a lot about the kind of players we have in the program."

With the victory, the Colonials improved to 10-5, overall, and 3-0 in conference play in the Atlantic-10.

Schaible, who was part of Dr. Phillips' dynastic girls basketball team that won three consecutive state championships and who also won a state title with the school's flag football team, was inducted into Orange County Public Schools' Metro Conference Hall of Fame earlier this year.
