Ocoee to set proposed tentative millage rate

City leaders also will be voting during the July 16 City Commission meeting to set budget workshop and hearing dates.

Budget talks for the upcoming fiscal year soon will be underway in Ocoee.

City leaders will be voting during the July 16 City Commission meeting to set the proposed tentative millage rate for fiscal year 2019-20. Commissioners also will be voting to set budget workshop dates in August and budget hearing dates in September.

City staff has recommended a proposed tentative millage rate of 5.75 mils. If approved, commissioners can set the proposed rate in September at this rate or below it. The Commission also has the option to raise the proposed millage rate for the upcoming fiscal year. City leaders can set the proposed millage for the upcoming fiscal year up to 7.7131 mils with a super-majority vote. The current millage rate of 5.5 mils.
