Eight players from Squeeze named to Florida League All-Star Game roster

Rosters for the 11th Florida Collegiate Summer League All-Star Game are set and the Winter Garden Squeeze are well-represented in their first season as a franchise.

Eight players from the Squeeze (13-11) will take part in the game, which will occur on July 8 at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium.

The annual game will pit players from the North (consisting of players from Sanford, DeLand and Leesburg) against the South (consisting of players from Winter Garden, Winter Park and College Park).

The North team’s roster currently has 24 players while the South’s team roster has 22. Sanford (15-8), in first place in the Florida League standings as of Thursday morning, leads all teams with 13 selections. On the South team, Winter Garden and Winter Park are tied with eight players apiece while College Park has just six selections.

The game will begin at 7 p.m. with the gates opening at 5 p.m. for the Home Run Derby, which will begin at 6 p.m.
