The YCF Loreleis, a synchronized swimming team consisting of local teenagers from Dr. Phillips and Windermere, has qualified for the USA Synchro Age Group Nationals. The team will compete at the end of the month in Seattle, marking the first time in 25 years that the organization has made it to the national competition.

The Loreleis compete and practice out of the YMCA located on International Drive and are coached by Teresa Szakos, a former national champion in the sport for Puerto Rico.

Anyone interested in making a tax deductible donation to help the team pay for its travel to and from Nationals can visit ymcacentralflorida.com and go under the tab labeled “Get Involved” and select “Give.” Donations can then be made by specifying “YCF Loreleis” under “Designation Options.”

Those interested in getting themselves or their teen involved in the sport can visit www.orlandosynchro.org.
