WINDERMERE

+ Rotary Club of Windermere

Windermere Rotary Club presented a monetary gift to the Edgewood Children’s Ranch for much-needed computer software for keeping students’ records.

The ranch has been serving the Central Florida area since 1966 and offers children ages 8 to 17 a safe place to work through pressures of daily student/family dynamics.

The typical “rancher” is a child who has behavioral issues, often a product of unidentified hurt, confusion, school challenges fueled by underlying issues such as ADHD, ODD, bi-polar and depression. The children live in a “cottage” with about eight other children and a set of house parents. They function as a family unit, maintaining their cottage and attending class to keep up with their educational needs.

The ranch is at 1451 Edgewood Ranch Road, Orlando, and currently has room for a few more students.

WINTER GARDEN

+ Rotary Club of Winter Garden

Russell shared why it is so important to be knowledgeable of our country’s history and what gave him the inspiration to put in all the time and research to this book together. Russell closed his speech with a solo performance on his saxophone.
