WINTER GARDEN  It may be August, but if you’re trying to get back on board with your New Year’s Resolution to eat healthy, the Plant-Based Table’s upcoming cooking class will help.

The Plant-Based Table, launched in early 2015, is owned by Winter Garden resident Claire Brown, a dance teacher with a certification in plant-based nutrition who focuses on holistic health and nutrition.

On Thursday, Aug. 11, Brown will host a plant-based cooking and nutrition class titled “Kickstart Your Health.” The class will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at West Orange Nephrology, located at 1210 E. Plant St. Suite 120, Winter Garden.

The class itself is a plant-based cooking demonstration, and participants can enjoy tastings and take-home recipes in a supportive group setting. The menu for the night includes portobello mushroom fajitas, orange-miso chickpea salad and sweet potato breakfast oats.

The cost to attend is $25, and you can sign up by contacting West Orange Nephrology at (407) 297-8404 or by directly messaging Claire Brown or Plant-Based Table on Facebook. For more information on Plant-Based Table, visit its website at www.plantbasedtable.net.
